Preparation Process
Academia Publishing strives to make the SARC preparation process
simple, straightforward, and systematic. We save time for both site
principals and the district office.
We create questionnaires that incorporate the data elements and
definitions that are produced each year by the California Department
of Education (CDE). These questionnaires ensure that the district
has incorporated all elements that are required by both state and
federal reporting requirements, making the reports 100% compliant.
The following is a summary of our SARC preparation process:
- Data Retrieval
We retrieve all data that is made available by the CDE. We take
this data and incorporate it into tables, graphs, charts, and
narratives. Our goal is to present the data in a way that is maximally
effective, understandable, and attractive to the reader.
Questionnaire
Submission
We provide a simple process for the principals and district office
to electronically submit information to us that the CDE does not
provide. Principals will receive a questionnaire in Microsoft
Word format that is specific for an Elementary, Middle, or High
school. The questionnaire includes clear instructions in a smooth
flowing format. The questionnaire allows principals the opportunity
to provide a variety of specific information about their school.
Similarly, the district office and facilities office will receive
a questionnaire in Microsoft Word format. These two questionnaires
are also easy to follow and are accompanied by clear instructions.
All questionnaires are submitted to the district via e-mail and
come with a due date to ensure project completion before February
1st. Once completed, the district submits their questionnaires
to us via e-mail.
- Edit & Finalize
Once we receive completed questionnaires from both the site principals
and district office, we will edit and skillfully integrate their
narratives into the SARCs. Depending on the size of the district,
the SARCs are completed within a matter of weeks. We allow the
district office and school sites to preview and edit their SARCs
by submitting drafts to them prior to final completion. Once any
necessary changes are made, we submit the finalized SARCs in Adobe
PDF format so that they are ready to be printed for distribution
and posted to the Internet.
